Writing a Story

Okay, so I came across quite the dilemma. Here it is: writing truly genuine original work can be quite complicated and hard. I started writing pieces of Nightmare, but here's the thing, I started wondering how long are chapters usually? I'm not sure. Well, I do know that they are not just two pages. They are quite long and significant.

And it's about details and timing. I know in my head what Leon looks like, but I'm not sure if everyone else does, lol. It's quite difficult because I just want to tell people what's happening to Leon, but they don't really know who he is and where he's coming from. But I know. Unfortunately, for others, I am not the type to question where people are coming from or who they are. I just go with the flow. However, that doesn't work  in writing a fiction piece. Maybe in shorter pieces, but a longer one, I'm screwed. It's not fair...I have no idea how I am going to do this. I can't get the timing right, like, when do I tell the readers about how Leon looks? If I tell the readers about his looks don't I make my work boring? Won't I mess up Leon's fate, by slowing it down?

Very frustrating.

I am currently looking up the outlines of other classic books. I looked into Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and The Great Gatsby. I have heard that J. K. Rowling's work was very much was awful in terms of writing. I would have to disagree up until the 4th book. The Great Gatsby, provides various elements that I would like to add to my story, however, it does so in such a elegant matter. I need to get to know the writing a bit more.

I also need to up my vocabulary. The same old words will not do it for me or my stories.
